Student Marketplace Experience

The Course Marketplace provides students with a user-friendly way to browse, filter, and enroll in courses directly from your institution’s online offerings. The homepage displays all available courses, along with search and filtering options to help students find the right course.

Browsing & Searching for Courses

Students can browse available courses by scrolling through the Course Marketplace or using the search and filter options at the top of the page.

The Search Bar allows them to quickly find a course by entering keywords such as a course name or code. The Filters provide additional customization, enabling students to refine their search to help narrow down results to find the best fit.

Viewing Course Listings

Each course listing on the main Course Marketplace page displays:

  • Course Code and Name – Identifies the course.
  • Category and Delivery Method – Indicates the subject area and format.
  • Short Description – A brief course summary.
  • Schedule Preview – Displays key class times and days.
  • Price, Duration, and Availability – Lists the cost, length, and current enrollment status.

Clicking on a course in the Course Marketplace opens a detailed course information popup with everything students need to know before enrolling.

At the top, students will see key course details, including the Course Code and Name, Category, Available Locations, Duration, Weekly Commitment, Delivery Method, Schedule, and Fees. The Registration Status indicates whether the course is open, full, or has a waitlist.

Below, additional course details may appear depending on how the course is configured. If set up, students will see sections for Course Description, Requirements, Learning Outcomes, Evaluation Methods, and Textbooks & Materials.

At the bottom of the popup, students can choose to Enroll Now, Request More Info (if enabled), or Close the window to continue browsing.

Course URL

The Course URL is found in the details of each Marketplace course and can be used to link directly to that course. This URL can be embedded on other parts of your website, in advertisements, or shared across the internet, allowing students or potential students to access the course with a simple click. It provides a seamless way to direct traffic to a specific course, enhancing the student experience by making enrollment and access more convenient.

Enrolling in a Course

The enrollment process in the Course Marketplace depends on the settings configured for each course. Some courses allow immediate enrollment, while others require manual approval or payment before enrollment is confirmed.

When students click Enroll Now, one of the following will happen based on the course settings:

  • Auto Enrollment Enabled – The student is instantly enrolled in the course upon submitting the request.
  • Manual Enrollment Required – The student's request is sent for review and must be approved before they are officially enrolled.
  • Payment Required – If the course has a fee and Pay Immediately is enabled, students must complete payment during enrollment. If Manual Payment is set, they will receive instructions for submitting payment separately.

Accessing a Course

Once the enrollment is complete, students receive a confirmation email with course details.

New Students: If enrolling for the first time, they will receive their Student ID and login instructions for the Student Portal, where they can access their courses and student information.

Current Students: If the course is set to Continuous Enrollment, it will immediately appear in their Student Portal. Otherwise, access will be granted on the Course Publish Date.
