Course Templates Overview

In ampEducator, Course Templates function as your Course Catalog.

Course Templates do not have dates assigned, and Students are not enrolled in them. Instead, they serve as a starting point for new courses, allowing you to avoid redefining common course details like grading categories, capacity, timetables, instructors, documents, and more. This ensures consistency across courses and reduces repetitive setup tasks.

When creating a new course, you can select a Course Template, set the start and end dates, and easily launch the course. This is particularly handy when starting a new term or academic year, as it allows you to quickly create courses without having to build them from scratch.

Key Differences:

  • Course Templates are reusable blueprints without dates or enrollments.
  • Courses are active, date-specific classes where Students are enrolled, assignments are given, and grades are recorded.

Using Course Templates helps maintain a consistent structure across courses while saving time on setup.
