Students Tab
the students tab provides an overview of all students enrolled in the course it displays key information such as enrollment status, attendance summary, content progress, grades, and final percentage this tab also includes quick actions for enrolling students, assigning them to groups, marking completion, and sending course updates student list overview each row in the student list provides quick insight into the student’s progress in the course here’s what each column shows student displays the student’s name, id, email address, and phone number clicking the name opens the student’s profile in a new tab status indicates the student’s enrollment status (e g enrolled) content shows how many course content items the student has completed out of the total the progress bar helps visually track this at a glance attendance displays the student’s attendance standing (good, marginal, or review) based on absences and hours this status is color coded absences (ab %) the total number of absences and the percentage of the course missed ca (consecutive absences) number of consecutive missed sessions l (lates) number of times the student has been marked late hrs the total number of hours the student has attended in the course grades a visual progress bar representing how many graded items the student has completed out of the total final % the calculated final grade for the course as a percentage, based on the grading scheme at the end of each row, there are several action icons you can use to manage or communicate with the student enrolling a student manually to manually enroll a student into a course, go to the students tab of the course and click the green enroll student button a modal window will appear, allowing you to fill out the required enrollment details enroll student fields student begin typing the student’s name and select from the dropdown the student must already exist in the system to be enrolled enroll date use the calendar icon to select the date the student is officially enrolling in the course repeat course check this box if the student is repeating the course auto complete this setting determines how and when the student will be automatically marked as complete in the course options include none no automatic completion the student must be manually marked as complete by course weeks the student is marked as complete once the number of weeks set for the course has passed by manual date a new field will appear allowing you to select a specific date the student will be marked as complete on that date by all grades entered the student will be automatically marked as complete once all grade items have been entered in the gradebook you can also specify a minimum grade percentage, minimum attendance hours, and minimum engagement hours—only students who meet or exceed these criteria will be marked as complete charge course fees if applicable, choose whether course specific fees should be charged to the student’s account upon enrollment charge session fees if applicable, select whether any fees tied to the academic session should be applied when enrolling the student once the form is complete, click enroll student to confirm after enrolling, the student will appear in the list on the students tab with their status set to enrolled if the student has already been enrolled, you can still update their auto complete settings by going to courses docid\ vdrnsokjlkhgtn6 no8dd adding students to a group to add students to an existing or new group, start by selecting the checkboxes next to their names in the students list then click more actions and choose add students to group in the modal that appears, you can select group choose an existing group from the dropdown list new group check this box to create a new group using the selected students scheduled events > send invite if the selected group has upcoming scheduled events, checking this box will send invitations to those events to any student has met all course requirements and received a final grade, you can mark them as complete directly from the students tab to do this, click the complete student icon in the student’s row in the modal, fill out the following completed date required use the calendar icon to select the date the student officially finished (or stopped) the course mark as incomplete only select this if the student did not complete the course—for example, if they withdrew, stopped attending partway through, or were unable to finish do not use this if the student finished the course but received a failing grade notes optional add any comments or internal notes related to the completion click complete student to save the student’s status will update to either completed or incomplete , and the final grade will be recorded the course will also become eligible to appear on the student’s transcript, depending on your institution’s settings after this action is taken, the student’s row will be briefly highlighted in green to indicate a recent update viewing course content progress to view a student’s progress through the course materials delivered through the lms, click the view course content progress icon (blue stacked lines) in their row on the students tab this opens a detailed view of how much content the student has completed and which materials they’ve accessed the student course content progress modal displays course info student name, email, course name, session, and current status progress summary how many units the student has completed, shown as a number and percentage content breakdown a full list of units, sections, and learning materials—such as texts, documents, videos, links, and tests—along with start and end times (if available), visual progress bars, and completion status for each item if needed, you can manually mark a unit as complete by clicking the checkmark that appears next to it this view helps you quickly assess how far a student has progressed through the assigned course content and where they may still need to catch up sending an email notification to send a summary email to a student about their status or grade changes in the course, click the email notification icon (blue envelope) in their row on the students tab this will immediately send an email to the student with a summary of their course details this is useful for quickly notifying a student when a new grade has been entered, their status has changed, or when their course is completed the email includes student and course info name, id, course title, session, enrollment and start dates grades number of grades entered, final mark, and credits earned attendance total hours completed, number and percentage of classes attended, missed, and late student portal access a link to the student portal for more details this summary helps keep students informed and encourages them to log in to their portal to stay on top of their progress search, filter, and export options at the top right of the students tab, you’ll find several tools to help you manage and work with the student list more efficiently search bar quickly locate a specific student by typing their name, id, or email filter icon click the funnel icon to open the filters modal you can filter the list by status (such as enrolled, completed, or incomplete) and choose how to sort the list, for example by first name or last name export icon click the download icon to open the export data modal from here, you can choose which columns to include and export the student list as a pdf, csv, or xml file refresh icon click the circular arrow to reload the data and make sure the view reflects the most current information these tools are helpful for reviewing large classes, creating custom
