Evaluations

Evaluations in ampEducator are an essential tool for assessing students on various tasks, projects, and activities throughout the course. They allow instructors to grade students on specific criteria, provide feedback, and track attendance if necessary. Evaluations integrate seamlessly with the grading and attendance systems, automatically updating both as instructors grade the assessments.

Creating Evaluations

To create a new evaluation for a course, navigating to Home / Evaluations / New Evaluation.

  • Evaluation Setup: Begin by entering the evaluation’s name, description, and grading criteria. You can also choose to include attendance tracking. If enabled, specify the default attendance hours to be recorded for each student.
  • Attendance Tracking: If attendance is part of the evaluation, you can configure settings like scheduled hours, attendance penalties for lateness or absence, and actual attendance hours. These details will be reflected in both the student’s attendance record and their overall grade.
  • Sections and Questions: Organize your evaluation by adding sections, with each section containing one or more questions. You can choose Grade questions for points-based assessments or Field questions for non-graded responses. For graded questions, assign point values that contribute to the total evaluation score.
  • Quick Action Icons: Once your evaluation is created, four icons appear next to it for easy management: Edit, Preview, Copy, and Delete. These allow you to quickly make adjustments, duplicate the evaluation, or remove it if no longer needed.

This process helps you efficiently create and customize evaluations, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated with the course’s grading and attendance systems.
