Configuring Credentials

To add or edit credentials in ampEducator, navigate to Institution Config / Credentials and click New Credential. From there, you can enter the necessary details for the credential. By default, ampEducator includes Diploma and Certificate credentials, but you can create custom credentials as needed.

There are two additional tabs in the Credentials section:

  • Authentication Portal: When enabled, this feature allows future employers or any third party to verify the authenticity of the credentials issued by your institution. By generating a unique URL for each credential, the authentication portal provides a secure way to confirm that the credentials students receive from your school are legitimate.
  • External Providers: Currently, Accredible.com is the external provider for credentialing and authentication. To integrate Accredible, generate and provide the API key from the Accredible Settings Page under API & Integrations.

Awarding Credentials

When completing a student’s program, you have the option to award the credential. Depending on how you've configured your credentials, students can receive a downloadable PDF, preview the credential in their student portal, or be provided with a unique URL for verification. This URL can be authenticated by the ampEducator Authentication Portal or via an external provider like Accredible, depending on your setup. If you choose not to configure the credentialing features, you can manage credentials manually.
