Attendance
the attendance section provides a complete overview of a student’s attendance activity at your institution from here, you can review attendance totals, track daily attendance changes, identify any issues flagged as marginal or review, and view weekly course by course breakdowns you can also generate attendance reports in various formats for internal use or recordkeeping at the top of the section, you’ll see the student’s current attendance status and their last date of attendance below that, the section is divided into four key parts attendance summary, attendance status, attendance marginal & review, and attendance by course you can also use the generate report button in the top right corner to create a downloadable attendance report for the student — we’ll go into more detail on this below attendance summary this section gives you a quick breakdown of the student’s overall attendance performance you’ll see totals for attendance , absence , and late across three views cumulative displays the student’s total attendance data overall and for the current session by session breaks down attendance by each academic session the student is enrolled in by program shows attendance percentages for each program the student is part of beside each line, you'll see an attendance status indicator (e g , good) based on your institution’s configured thresholds attendance status this table lists all recorded changes to the student’s attendance status over time each entry includes date when the status was recorded status the attendance status assigned on that date (e g , good, review) reason(s) what triggered the change (e g , cumulative current) details any additional notes associated with the status update this is especially useful for tracking patterns or identifying students who may need follow up support attendance marginal & review this section highlights any attendance issues that have triggered a marginal or review status based on thresholds set in your system it’s designed to help you quickly identify students who may require follow up each row displays the following type – indicates whether the status is based on cumulative, session, or program attendance name – the specific session or program name (if applicable) attendance status – will show either marginal or review , depending on how far the student’s attendance has dropped below the threshold attendance % – the student’s actual attendance percentage threshold % – the minimum attendance percentage required before a status is triggered this section only shows results when one or more of these conditions are met—otherwise, it will state that there are no items to show attendance by course this section provides a detailed week by week view of the student’s attendance across individual courses each row represents a course, and each column under the days of the week shows the student’s attendance status for that specific day you can filter the view using options for course status, student status, academic session, program, location, and week once your filters are selected, click apply to update the results status shows the student’s enrollment status in the course attendance reflects the student’s current attendance status for the course (e g good, review) ab % , ab , and l display the percentage and total number of absences and lates for the entire course hrs shows the total number of hours attended for the course overall the daily columns (mon–sun) show whether the student was present, absent, or late on each day of the selected week click the view by course details icon (magnifying glass) to open a detailed view for that course’s attendance this view helps you quickly assess daily attendance trends while still seeing cumulative course data generating a student attendance report if you need a record of a student’s attendance, you can generate a downloadable report by clicking the generate report button near the top right of the attendance section this opens a pop up window where you can select start date and end date — leave either or both blank to generate a report that includes all attendance before or after the given date(s) report type — choose from pdf , csv , or xml depending on how you plan to use the data once your options are set, click generate depending on which report type you’ve selected, the file will download directly to your computer here is an example of a pdf report
