In the **Institution Config / Students / Reasons** section, you can customize the reasons used when granting advanced standing or recording course withdrawals. These are commonly applied when managing individual **course** outcomes—such as marking a student exempt or noting a withdrawal due to personal reasons.

By default, some common codes and reasons are already provided, but you can add your own to better match your institution's needs.

## Adding a New Advanced Standing or Withdraw Reason

To add a new reason, click either **New Advanced Standing** or **New Withdraw Reason**. In the pop-up window, enter a short code (e.g., TRF, PR) and a full reason (e.g., Transfer, Personal Reasons).

Then click **Add** to save. Once created, your custom reason will appear as an option when managing course-level actions.
