LMS Overview
The Learning Management System (LMS) in ampEducator offers a wide range of tools to help you manage and enhance your courses. From creating assignments to managing external integrations, the LMS section provides everything you need to organize course content, track student progress, and foster engagement. Below is an overview of the key tabs within the LMS and their main features:
- Assignments: Create, manage, and grade assignments with various submission types such as file uploads, inline text, or video submissions. You can set due dates, add attachments, and provide feedback. Track student progress and mark assignments once they are submitted.
- Collaborations: Schedule and manage virtual meetings with Zoom integration (Google Meet and MS Teams coming soon). Automatically track attendance, send invites, and manage meeting links. Collaborations can be scheduled directly within the course, providing a seamless virtual learning experience.
- Content: Organize your course by adding Units, Sections, and Resources (documents, links, videos, etc.). You can also control content flow with options like date-based access, instructor approval, progressive flow, or setting a completion threshold for students to move on to the next unit.
- Discussion Board: Set up discussion boards to encourage student interaction with course material. You can create multiple discussion topics, use tags to organize discussions, and facilitate peer-to-peer engagement by allowing students to respond to each other’s posts.
- Documents: Upload and manage course documents for student access. You can choose whether documents are for instructor view only or made available to students. Multiple document types can be uploaded, such as PDFs, Word documents, and images.
- Evaluations: Create custom evaluations for assessing student performance, tracking attendance, and offering feedback. Evaluations can be linked to grades, used for activities, and customized with sections, questions, and scoring.
- External Courses: Integrate and sync external course platforms like Brightspace, Canvas, and Moodle with ampEducator. Enrollments, grades, and course content can be synced between systems, allowing for seamless management of cross-platform courses.
- External LTI: Integrate third-party Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) tools into your course. These tools can be used for additional functionalities, such as interactive apps, external content, or assessments that work within the ampEducator platform.
- Tests: Create and configure tests with different question types such as multiple choice, fill in the blanks, and matching. You can set time limits, apply proctoring, and control the grading and feedback settings. Test results can be automatically calculated or manually graded.
