Fees
The Fees tab allows you to set up additional institution fees that students can be charged for, aside from session, program, and course fees. These can include things like application fees, parking fees, and other miscellaneous charges. If you want to make fees available for students in the online store within the Student Portal, your merchant account must be configured to enable payment processing.
Once you create a fee category, you can press the expansion (+) icon to the left of the category to view the items and details under it.

You must create at least one fee category before adding specific fees. To create a new fee category, click New Fee Category. In the modal that appears, fill out the following fields:

- Category* – Enter a name for the fee category (e.g., "Application Fees").
- Available to Students – Select Yes if you want this fee to be available for students to pay via the student portal's online store. Please note that your merchant account must be set up for students to make payments.
Click Add, and the new fee category will be added to the list.
To add a fee item within the fee category, click the New Item icon next to the category.

The modal will appear with the following fields:

- Revenue Account – Choose the corresponding revenue account
- Fee Name – Enter the name of the fee
- Description – Provide a description of the fee
- Amount – Enter the amount for the fee
- Available to Students – Select Yes if you want this fee to be available for students to pay via the student portal's online store. Please note that your merchant account must be set up for students to make payments.
Click Add to save the new fee item, and it will appear under the selected category.

In the Student Portal, under Account / Online Store, any fees that have been made available for students will appear. Students can easily view these fees, such as application fees, parking fees, or other charges that the institution has set up.

To pay a fee online:
- The student simply adds the desired fee to their cart.
- After adding the item, the student can proceed to checkout and complete the payment online.
This process allows students to easily pay for fees through the student portal's online store, providing a seamless experience for fee management.
