Course equivalents allow you to set up alternative course codes that count toward **program requirements** and **course prerequisites**. If a course name or equivalent course name is provided, it will be used when matching equivalent courses.

**Note**: Equivalencies are **one-directional**, meaning the opposite equivalence is **not automatically applied**. If two courses should be equivalent in both directions, you must enter them as separate items.

## Adding a New Course Equivalent

To add a new course equivalent, click **New Course Equivalent** to open the modal.

Enter the required **Course Code** and **Equivalent Code**. You may also enter optional **Course Name** and **Equivalent Name** fields to improve matching.

Once all details are entered, click **Add** to save the equivalency. It will then appear in the **Course Equivalents** list, where you can review or update equivalencies as needed.
