New Feature: Direct Deposit (eCheck) with Authorize.Net

Release Date: April 28, 2025

ampEducator now supports Direct Deposit (eCheck) payments through Authorize.Net, allowing Students to make payments directly from their U.S. bank accounts, giving institutions and Students more flexible payment options.

  • eCheck (Direct Deposit) Support: Schools using Authorize.Net as their payment merchant can now enable eCheck to allow payments directly from Students' U.S. bank accounts.
  • Merchant Setup: To enable eCheck, schools must update their Authorize.Net Merchant settings under Institution Config / Accounts / Payments.
  • Student Payment Options: Once enabled, you can choose between Credit Card or Direct Deposit when making an online payment. Direct Deposit payments require entering the Account Holder Name, Account Type (Chequing or Savings), Routing Number, and Account Number.
  • Payment Timing: Direct Deposit payments are not instant and may take up to 7 business days to be received and approved. Payment statuses are updated daily within ampEducator, and staff can manually refresh the payment status if needed.

  • Similar to a Select List, but allows you to select multiple options

  • Fully supports multi-select filtering in both lists
  • Available when creating or editing custom fields under Institution Config

This new field type helps institutions collect more flexible data without needing to create multiple separate fields.

Contract Email Templates

When sending a signature request for a Student contract, you can now select from your existing email templates. This allows you to customize the message Students receive when asked to review and sign their contract.

Note: Staff and third-party recipients will still receive the default email format.

New Features: Student Deposits

April 1, 2025

We’re excited to announce the launch of the Student Deposits feature in ampEducator! Institutions can now easily invoice, collect, manage, and apply student deposits toward future fees.

  • Deposit Invoicing: Users can now add deposits as invoice items by clicking the bank icon in the invoice. Simply add a description and total amount, then save the deposit and post the invoice as usual.
  • New Deposits Section: Once a deposit invoice is paid, the amount will appear in a new Deposits section under Students / Accounts / Deposits. Deposits are only shown here once payment is applied.
  • Apply or Unapply Deposits: Deposits can be applied to specific invoices or charges by expanding the deposit and selecting which items to apply or unapply from—similar to the process used for payments and adjustments.
  • Student Account Summary Integration: The total deposit available for each Student will be displayed in their Account Summary for easy reference.
  • Deposit Activity Tracking: All deposit actions, including applied amounts, are recorded under the Activity tab as ‘Deposit Applied,’ with a reference to the related invoice or charge.
  • New Deposits Tab in Accounts: A dedicated Deposits tab is now available under Home / Accounts, where you can view all deposit transactions across the institution.
  • The default account for deposits is 2100 Deposits, configurable under Institution Config / Accounts / Defaults. Account codes can be adjusted if needed.
