## Course Attendance Window

**Release Date**: June 16, 2025

You can now control when instructors are allowed to record attendance with the new **Course Attendance Window** feature. This helps improve accuracy and prevent attendance from being entered too early or too late.

**How It Works:**
To enable this feature, go to **Courses / Details** and scroll down to find the new **Attendance Window** option.

- Set the number of minutes **before** and **after** the scheduled class time that instructors are allowed to enter or update attendance.
- Click **Save** to apply.

This setting is also available in **Course Templates**, so you can apply it consistently across new courses.

**What Happens Next:**
If an instructor tries to enter or edit attendance outside of the allowed time window, they’ll receive a pop-up message explaining why it’s locked—and the option will be disabled.

This feature ensures attendance is recorded at the appropriate time and helps maintain consistent, real-time records across your institution.

## Subscribe to Discussion Topics

We’ve added a new way for Students and Staff to stay connected so they **never miss an important reply or update** in active discussions.

How it works:

- A **Subscribe** button now appears in the upper right of each discussion topic.
- Once subscribed, users will receive an **email notification** for each new message posted to that topic.
- Users can **unsubscribe at any time** by clicking the link included in the notification email.
- A new **User Job** is triggered whenever a message is posted, ensuring delivery of notifications.
